What is the poem about ?
It is an IRONY towards the concept of building the nation. The poet ironically discusses two types of nation builders. There are those who are building the nation in terms of feeding the stomach and the second type of people are those who are building the nation when their stomachs are empty.

The poem is about a girl called ATIENO , who is humiliated by her own blood uncle. She lives in a bad condition and she is not sent to school as other children although her age allows her to be at school.
